Reliance Energy can bag Mumbai THL project

A consortium led by Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group's Reliance Energy (REL) is all set to get the contract for the prestigious Mumbai trans-harbour link project.

The project, which will link Sewri in the island city and Nava-Sheva across the creek, is part of the state government's ambitious $40 billion makeover plan for Mumbai.

The bids were opened at the office of Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) today, and it was found that REL's bid was more sound on both technical and financial terms when compared with Mukesh Ambani-controlled Sea King Infrastructure, said sources close to the development.

The board of MSRDC, which is the nodal agency for the project, will meet soon to give final approval, sources added.
